Say hello to newspaper nails. Um, pretty amazing, right? And it's ridiculously easy. So easy! I wish I could take credit for this idea, but it's not mine. I'm not sure who came up with it first, but it's genius. All you need is nail polish, newspaper, alcohol, and a top coat polish.
Just paint your nails as usual (a light color works best). Let dry. Then dip your fingers one at a time into your alcohol of choice, press a strip of newspaper firmly on the nail for 20-30 seconds, and carefully peel back. Let the newsprint dry on your nails before applying your top coat to seal the deal.
stole borrowed a really old bottle of vodka from my parents' house when I was visiting in San Diego last weekend. But apparently plain old rubbing alcohol will work too. I also took the arts section from the Union Tribune, since I don't get the newspaper. But when I arrived back home on Sunday afternoon, there was randomly a copy of the OC Register on my deck. Hmm... This means I have a full stock of newspaper goodness for many more newspaper nails to come!
