Salinas Family Portraits

A few weeks ago I had the distinct pleasure of hanging out with the Salinas family. Angela and I went to the same high school years ago in rural, small-town Minnesota. And now she and her husband David and their three adorable munchkins live just a stone's throw from me. Enjoy a few favorites from our family photo session!

Justin + Bree

Justin & Bree's sneak peak was posted several months ago…meanwhile I've been hoarding all these lovely images to myself! With the wedding less than two months away, I figured it was time to share them with the rest of the world.

Fall & Winter Reads

Possibly the strangest piece of nonfiction I've read…so far, I'm enjoying this. Paterniti is a great writer and has a wonderful way with words.

Up next (not necessarily in order):
11/22/63 by Stephen King
I gave this book to my dad for Christmas when it came out last year. Personally, the only book of Stephen King's I've read is On Writing (which is fantastic and highly recommended), because I'm not much for horror. After reading King's memoir on the craft of writing I was inspired to read one his not-so-horrific novels to see this master of writing in action. I've heard great things about this book!

I borrowed this from my mom a LONG time's been on my shelf way too long. It's time to read.

The Haunting of Maddy Clare by Simone St. James
This was one of the books my mom brought back for me from BEA in New York this year. I don't know much about it, but it's good to have a "mystery read" every once in a while.

Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
This book has been on my shelf (and my to-read list) for YEARS. It's about time to show it some love…

What's on your list?

The Grand Canyon | in Black & White

A few weeks ago I visited the Grand Canyon for the first time. This has long been on my bucket list, and it was awesome to finally go check out this amazing natural wonder with a great group of friends. Seven of us made the drive from Southern California to the GC to camp, hike, and stargaze.

While the Grand Canyon is full of warm colors that change from sunrise to sundown, there's something raw and gritty I love about these images in black and white. Enjoy a few favorites.
